"Working Together for a Better
Community!"
STEVE
REYNOLDS AND DONNA
"THE BOWLING LADY" KUCH

In 2002, Cordova Lanes received
the Florida Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance's
Community Service Award for our K-8 In School Bowling Program. Steve
Reynolds and bowling instructor, Donna Kuch, started the program in 1990 at
Longleaf Elementary School. All of the equipment such as bowling pins,
bowling balls, an instructional video, and field trips to Cordova Lanes were
offered to the school. Today after the success at Longleaf, the program has
grown to include as many of the elementary and middle schools in Escambia
County as Donna's calendar will allow.
We will be going to 27 schools
this year. 13 schools will be doing the program on their own with the help
of a video and booklet done by Cordova Lanes. Last year Ms. Donna taught
22,000 students how to bowl. This year the number will go up. We are trying
to put bowling in every school in Escambia County.
